  • My prayers and deepest sympathy to Jodi, Phil and family.

A few years ago, my son introduced me to one of his best friends. This boy showed us nothing but the utmost respect and kindness I have ever seen from a teenager. He spent many nights with us, swam in our pool, sat on our couch while he played the guitar and sang to us, watched our tv, ate our food and spent a lot of time with Kaleb over the past years. He became a part of our family. I loved to hear him play his guitar and sing. I started calling him, “Guitar Hero Mike.” Mike’s infectious smile would light up any room. He was always happy. Today, Mike has gone to be with his Lord and Savior after his battle with cancer. There are no words to express my pain today with the grief of losing this young man who meant a lot to many. My heart is breaking and my eyes fill with tears while in disbelief. God bless his family and his many friends. All who knew him, loved him. He will be sadly missed. RIP Michael Harris, you were always an angel in my eyes.

  • My deepest sympathy goes to the Harris family. I have many fond memories of Michael in my biology classroom. He will be greatly missed by many in the Galion community.

  • To the extended Harris family, While my heart is breaking, I feel so blessed to have known Michael. He touched so many with his warmth, compassion, wit, charm and talent. Few have the positive impact that Michael had on others in a lifetime. Let alone in his short 19 years here on earth. I have witnessed the love your family has for Michael. I hope it brings you peace to see how this community loved him as well. Michael was one in a million. Phil and Jodi, you did a spectacular job in raising such a fine young man. While we will grieve and miss him, the angels and Lord are rejoicing. Heaven gained one more beautiful voice for the choir. Love you all, Kim

  • Jodi, Phil & girls, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even begin to imagine your heartache. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.

  • Jody and family,

  • Michael its so hard to say goodbye. Even though I only knew you for a couple of years you became a truly great friend in that short amount of time. You were truly a gentle soul who could make anyone laugh or smile. You would have done anything for anybody no questions asked. When I needed help you were always there for me. I’ve told you but I don’t know if you ever truly understood how much that meant to me. When I moved last year you were the only one to show up to help me move. When I was depressed or down about something you sent me a text to see what was up or to encourage me. I’m truly grateful that I got to have that last conversation with you to tell you how much you meant to me and that last movie trip before your surgery a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for everything you did for me I’m truly BLESSED to have known you. Any man would be lucky to be half the man you were on your short time on this earth. I love you brother!!!! My deepest sympathy to the Jodi and the family. Michael was one of a kind.

  • The first time I took notice of Michael he was singing a “special” at church, accompanying himself on the guitar. What an amazing, anointed ministry. Several times I tried to encourage him to do more specials. I’m fairly confident that he wasn’t in heaven for 24 hours before the Lord Jesus turned to him and said , “Michael , Sing me a song .” He will be greatly missed here, but there is one more reason to look forward to heaven now !

  • Phil & Family….. I did not have the privilege of knowing Michael, but just reading the list of condolences, make me realize what an outstanding young man he was. Please accept my deepest sympathy to you, and your family.. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.. Sincerely, Davey Jones & Family WQEL

  • Phil & Jodi-

I can’t even begin to tell you how sorry I am to hear of Michael’s passing. I have the best memories growing up with your children. Oh the fun the 4 of us had! Even though Michael was younger than Andrew, Lindsey and I, he sure kept up with us! He was so precious! I can vividly remember him saying (around age 3 or 4 maybe), “My name is Michael Herman Harris!” Boy was he proud when he would say that! What an amazing young man you both raised. It’s abundantly clear he touched everyone he met. What an honor it is to have memories of Michael in my childhood. I pray that God wraps his arms around you and your families during this unthinkable time. God sure has an amazing team up there!

    God Bless-
    Allison Godby

In the times when I met him, Michael was always polite (and funny) and blessed us so with his songs and guitar playing. You are so fortunate to have videos of some of them to remember! I cannot imagine the loss you are suffering and continue to hold you up in my prayers both today and for the time following the funeral.

  • We are out of the loop a bit since moving to Arizona but quite shocked to hear that Michael was in ICU and then to see his obituary. We love all of our GAC kids with a jealous passion and Michael was one of the greats. Tony will always hold him dear in his heart, our love and prayers are with you.
