Mary Palmer Wallace

Mansfield: Mary Palmer Wallace, 85, a resident of The Waterford, died Friday afternoon, October 17, 2003 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a long illness.
She was born September 14, 1918 in Piqua to Judd L. and Bertha Tilock Palmer and was graduated from Shelby High School in 1936.
Mary attended the College of Wooster as well as taking classes at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland where she also worked as a lab technician. She moved to the Mansfield area in 1953.
Mary served her Lord faithfully as a devoted wife and mother a caring and loving friend and a steadfast woman of prayer.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and deaconess, the Women’s Association, Mary-Sarah Circle, Joy in the Morning, and Womens Pink Bag Lunch Bible Study. She was a past president of Presbyterian Women and captain of the Prayer Chain. Mary enjoyed gardening, was a member of the Agnes Paulsen Garden Club, and volunteered at Richland Pregnancy Center.
Mary is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and William Herdman of Mansfield and Tricia and Charlie Andrews of Westerville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce Wallace of Tampa, Florida and Rich and Susan Wallace of Sidney; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Roger Pfahler of Shelby.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wallace whom she married on Christmas day in 1941.
The family will receive friends in the parlor of First Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road on Monday, October 20, 2003 from twelve noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 pm. The Rev. Dennis R. Allison and The Rev. Dr. David Hartzfeld will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
