Mary K. Mann, age 89, of Fredericktown passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born April 9, 1927 in Mount Vernon to the late Edgar and Daisy (Frye) Barton

Mary attended the Eastside Church of Christ in Mount Vernon. Over the years, Mary had worked for the Mount Vernon Telephone Company, Edmont Glove Company, Lenkie Brothers’ Cabinet Shop and the most rewarding job she had was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Mary’s pastimes included gardening, her flowers, playing cards and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her children, John E. (Carol) Mann of Mount Vernon and Janet L. (Dan) Porter of Greer, SC; grandchildren, Sean (Michele) Porter of Taylors, SC and Shelley (Dr. Jeff) Gudger of Boiling Springs, SC; sisters, Betty (John) Yarman of Howard and Rozella McKelvey of Mount Vernon; and a sister-in-law, Susie Barton of Mount Vernon.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell Lee Mann on January, 14, 2002; and brothers, Robert and Dwaine Barton.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Eastside Church of Christ, 1120 Yauger Road, Mount Vernon with Mr. Rick Tincher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.  A private burial will be in Pike Cemetery.
