Mary A. Mackey, 65, of Galion, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Born April 25, 1943 in Wallins Creek, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James M. and Nancy L. Scott. She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Mackey, whom she married May 27, 1961.
Mary’s first love was her family followed by her strong dedication to her church. She was a member of Community Christian Church of Galion, the Women’s Guild and leader of Care and Share, the Tuesday night bible study at church. Mary worked at various places including J.C. Penney Co., North Electric Co., Atwood Manor and Village Care Nursing Center.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Mike Hutchison of Willard, Linda and Nathan Vance of Galion and Dawn and Brian Wilson of Lenoir City, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Rachel Hutchison and her fiance’ Doug Hardin, Amy Harley King, Emilee Vance and Nicholas Vance; one sister and brother-in-law, Ada and Jim Weaber of Weaver, Ala. and one sister-in-law, Pat Lloyd Garverick of Galion.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ernie M. Scott.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at Community Christian Church where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Dr. Daniel A. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
