Marjorie Theone Roesch, 104, of rural Mt. Gilead passed away, Sunday morning, June 1, 2014, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.
She was born October 13, 1909 on her family farm near Steam Corners, and was the daughter of Silas and Della (Quay) Rinehart.
Marjorie married Linerd H. Roesch on October 22, 1936 and he preceded her in death.
She was a 1928 graduate of Iberia High School and worked 16 years at the former North Electric in Galion. Marjorie was always on the go; housekeeping for several years and caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano, journaling and spending time with family and friends. Marjorie lived in Iberia most of her life and was a member of Iberia United Methodist Church. In her 80’s she went into her daughter’s Iberia Elementary classroom and read to the children. It was appropriately called “Grandma’s cozy corner”.
Marjorie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dalene Lynn (Don) Roach of Mt. Gilead; two grandchildren, Amy Dyanne (Cory) Miley of Galion, Kevin Michael (Chris) Roach of Iberia; two great-grandchilden, Katelyn Theone Miley of Galion and Jordon Swim of Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews and a close friend and caregiver Sandy Stover of Mt. Gilead.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by; daughter Diane Roesch; three sisters, Velma Rinehart, Lena DePue and Louise Maidens and two brothers, Dale and Harold Rinehart.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Iberia United Methodist Church, 3664 St. Rt. 309, Iberia with Pastors, Pat Fruth, Ash Welch and Bill Sowers officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
