Marie L. Rader, age 89, of Delaware died Thursday afternoon, September 18, 2003, at Wintersong Village Nursing Center.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio on November 12, 1913 to the late Ora and Hazel (Shipper) Hammaker. She worked as a general helper for Greenthumb through the Community Action Organization. She has been a resident of Delaware for more than 20 years after living in Johnstown, Ohio. She was a Member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church and participated in Delaware County Senior Citizens. She will be remembered for her free spirit.

She is survived by Daughters: Virginia Phelps of Delaware, Harriet (Eugene) Blain of Pataskala, Sandra Ramey of Delaware, and Carol (Andrew) Seremi of Magnetic Springs, Ohio, Son: William Ferryman of California, 18 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Ivan Rader in 1963, Daughters: Rosemarie Ferryman and Verty Hale, Son: Kenneth Ferryman, and Brothers: Clarence and Harry Hammaker.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor H. Wayne Keith officiating. Interment will follow in Jerome Cemetery.
