Marie Ellen Raitch passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in her Mansfield home surrounded by her family. She was 100.

She was born on December 29, 1917 on the Campbell Farm on St. Rt. 42 South, to the late Glenn and Ruby (Balliet) Campbell. Mrs. Raitch was previously employed by the county and state for 30 years until retiring in 1980.

Being very active in the community, Marie Ellen was a member and past secretary to the Public Employees Retirement Chapter #84, received her 15 year pin for volunteering at the Renaissance theatre, and Kingwood Center where she was a tour guide and hostess. She was also a member, past secretary, and news reporter for the Lexington Area Senior Citizens, Drove meals on wheels for Mansfield Memorial Home, Past President of Terra Bona Garden Club, on the Executive Committee of AARP, and received a Certificate for never missing voting for 50 years and working the polls for 25 years.

She was a long time member of Resurrection Parish where she was an usher and distributor, and helped compiling the history of Church for the 25th Anniversary. The organizer for all class reunions for her class of 1935 of Lexington High School, and was a member of the first Rehab Board organized in 1954.

Marie Ellen also loved to travel. She has been to every state, including Hawaii, Canada, British Isle, Europe, and Nova Scotia.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Mike) Henry; grandson Sean Patrick Henry; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband Frank Raitch; a sister Glenna Jean Frost; and a brother James D. Campbell.

The family will receive family and friends Tuesday January 16, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Resurrection Parish. Rev. Father Nelson Beaver will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
