Ontario, Ohio

ONTARIO: Margaret Katherina Keinath passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Crystal Care Center in Mansfield at the age of 82.

She was born June 1, 1935 to parents Edward & Helena (Staufner) Herzog in Brooklyn, New York. After Margaret graduated from High School, she went on to attend Eastern Bible College for 2 years.

On June 21, 1958, she married David L. Keinath and they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage together.

Margaret was a homemaker who especially enjoyed cooking, baking and hospitality. Amongst her specialties was her German meals. She also played and taught piano and spent many years ministering in music in nursing homes. In her spare time, she took pleasure in reading a good book, completing a crossword puzzle and in gardening. But above all, Margaret cherished her faith, her husband and her family.

She is survived by husband David L. Keinath; children, Rev. Dr. Thomas (Kimberly) Keinath of Wayne, NJ; Rebecca (Jeff) Wiles of Zuni, VA; Ruth (David) Schnuerer of Lewis Center, OH; and Judy (James) Bober of Pittsboro, NC; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. At Margaret’s home going, she was received by her beloved mother, father, sister (Eleanor) and brother-in-law (Fred).

The Keinath family will receive friends Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where calling hours will continue Monday, July 31, 2017 from 10-11 am where a funeral service honoring Margaret’s life will begin immediately at 11 a.m. Pastor Bill Savage of Mansfield will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made payable to the Ashland Care Center (assisting crisis pregnancies).
