Marcella B. Voss, 92, of Galion, died peacefully, Wednesday morning, Aug. 17, 2011 at home.

Born Aug. 21, 1918 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Mary S. Stapleton Cutshall. She was preceded in death on Feb. 24, 1969 by her husband, Henry Voss whom she married on April 29, 1939.

Marcella retired from the former GTE Telephone Company after 24 years, where she was a telephone operator and later a supervisor. She graduated from Galion High School where she played basketball. An avid bowler, Marcella was a member of the Galion Golden Age Club and its Jing-A-Lings group and the St. Paul United Single Adults. Marcella was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Galion and served a mission in Washington, D.C. as a temple worker in 1985 and 1986.

Surviving are six daughters and four sons-in-law, Doris and Randy Vance of Galion, Jane and Milt Fletcher of Campobello, S. C., Betty Vollrath, of Grove City, Margie Golden of Orem, Utah, Maxine and Dave Reed of Galion, and Marcie and Dave Armstrong of Zanesville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert H. and Irene Voss of Grove City and Jerry and Cindy Voss of Galion; 33 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce McGonigal; one grandson, David Armstrong; three brothers, Walter, J.D. and George Cutshall and four sisters, Marjorie Huey, Mary Simons, Maxine Willets and Mercedes Adams.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 250 South Street Road, Galion with Bishop Craig Andrew officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
