Malcolm “Mac” Weikle

BELLVILLE: Malcolm “Mac” Weikle, 75, of Fitting Avenue, Bellville, died Tuesday morning May 14, 2002 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, following a long illness.
He was born December 6, 1926 in Lillydale, West Virginia, to Otis McKinley and Eunice May (Parker) Weikle, and had lived in the Bellville area for fifty years.
Graduated from high school in Union, West Virginia, Mac attended college at Concorde College in West Virginia, and earned his Bachelors degree at Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia.
He was a member of the Ohio Genealogy Society, and Sons of the Confederacy. Searching for his ancestors’ graves in old cemeteries was a favorite past time. A true “Mr. Fix-It”, Mac loved woodworking and gardening.
A math teacher, Mr. Weikle had taught in Bellville from 1958 to 1962, and at John Sherman Junior High School in Mansfield from 1962 until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by his wife Gloria (Payne) Weikle, whom he married fifty years ago today, on May 15, 1952; a son Jeff Weikle of Bellville, two daughters Debbie Weikle of Hilliard and Angie Oyster of Bellville; four grandchildren Andrea Oyster of Bellville, Aaron Oyster of Johnsville, Christina Weikle and Jeremy Weikle both of Bellville; a great grandchild Blayze Oyster of Johnsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Linda Weikle of Pickaway, West Virginia, and Mark and Brenda Weikle of Covington, Virginia; a sister and brother-in-law Maryellen and Linwell Booth of Linside, West Virginia; and family pet dog Hugo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Weikle and a sister Janet Louise Weikle.
Friends may call Thursday May 16, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Friday at 11 am. The Rev. John Wiseman will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
