Mabel K. Hardesty

MANSFIELD: Mabel K. Hardesty, 98, of Mansfield died Monday morning, April 10, 2017 in Wedgewood Estates.

Mabel was born Friday, February 21, 1919, in Adario, OH and was the daughter of Peter and Elsie (Kress) Krichbaum. Mabel was the seventh born of thirteen children. She was a 1935 graduate of Adario High School, and has lived in the Mansfield area most of her life.

She was a wonderful homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for nine doctors at The Clinic in Mansfield. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and played in the Bell Choir.

Mabel is survived by three children: Lowell (Diane) Hardesty of Chippewa; Kathleen (Ron) Rodriguez of Loudonville; and Deborah (Stan) Baker of Mansfield. Nine grandchildren: Lee (Diane) Hardesty, Wadsworth; Amy (Chris) Ryks, Medina; Jason Rodriguez, Ashland; Anita (Ryan) Gray, Alaska; Andrew (Laurie) Rodriguez, Nebraska; Jody (David) Tittes, CA; Benjamin Baker (Tia Cortelleti) Mansfield; Nathaniel (Rachel) Baker, Westerville; Stuart Baker, Akron; one sister, Janette (Kenneth) Rebman, Florida; one brother, Edwin (Janet) Krichbaum, Mansfield; and 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 65 years, Marion L. Hardesty. They were married, November 7, 1942 and Marion died February 7, 2008; infant son Curtis Lee and brothers Johnny, Alfred, William, Russell, Lloyd and Ralph and sisters Florence, Hazel, Irene, and Velma.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mabel K. Hardesty will begin at 11 am, Saturday, April 15, 2017 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2010 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, where her family will receive friends the hour prior from 10-11am.  The Rev. Richard Beal will officiate and a light luncheon will follow at the church.

The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is assisting the Hardesty family with cremation services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
