Centerburg, Ohio

Lou Ann Adams, age 60, of Centerburg died Monday, March 5, 2018 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus due to complications from Lymphoma Cancer first diagnosed in November 2017.

She was born on September 16, 1957 in Columbus the youngest daughter of the late Lewis and Esther (Bricker) Chattos and has been a member of the Centerburg community her entire life. She established a strong work ethic at an early age, while working on the family’s farm.

Lou Ann was a graduate of Centerburg High School in 1975 and worked as a call center specialist for Aetna Insurance for over 20 years.

Not long after high school graduation, she married William “Bill” Adams on September 27, 1975 in Mount Vernon.  They were married for 31 years, until his passing in 2006.

Gardening was Bill’s passion and she joined him on many of his projects. Her flower beds were always colorful, elaborate and brightened up their home.

Lou Ann was extremely giving and always helping others in any way she could without hesitation.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and rarely missed an event in their lives.

Lou Ann’s passions were: baking, butterflies and crafting. She was an exceptional baker and was well-known for her delicious cakes and cupcakes.  She and her sister even made cupcakes for the nurses and doctors where Lou Ann was being treated. In addition to home crafting projects, a special event for her was the annual Artiscape weekend, where she attended classes for over a decade and loved making new friends.

She will be missed by her children Charee (Jim Purdie) Adams of New Albany, Eric (Lisa) Adams of Mt. Vernon, Ryan (Jill) Adams of Centerburg and Amber Adams of Centerburg, two Grandchildren Colton (Alissa) and Logan Adams; sisters Sharon (Mike) Shuff of Centerburg and Bernie (Scott) Drake of Westerville; nieces Nicole Kennedy and Jaime Waters; and great niece and nephew Hayden and Scarlett Waters.
