Lloyd K. Lemley, age 86 of Bellville, died late Wednesday evening, June 27, 2001 in Delaware, OH at the home of his daughter, Brenda Armstrong.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1914 in Bellville to the late Charles and Edyth (Long) Lemley. A lifelong Bellville resident, he enjoyed nature as well as hard work and gardening. Lloyd was a self-employed landscape architect with Lemley Landscaping and formerly worked with Wade & Gatton Nurseries. He also worked 20 years as an inspector for Westinghouse and owned/operated the former Lemly Nursery.

Lloyd was instrumental in the preservation of the Mohican Forest, by helping to identify and control the blight that once threatened the trees of the Mohican State Park.

Survived by daughters: Brenda Armstrong of Delaware, Sonia Lemley of Mansfield, Grandsons: Justin and Joshua Armstrong, Great-grandson: Zebulan Armstrong.

Preceded in death by his wife: Leola E. Schonauer Lemley on Jan. 7, 1989 and Sister: Helen Lemley in 1969.

Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m., with funeral services to follow Sunday evening 8:00 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, Pastor Gene E. Witzky officiating. Burial and graveside services for the family will be held Monday.
