Linda Mae (Breitinger) McLaughlin

September 25, 1941 ‒ November 28, 2018

Mansfield, Ohio

MANSFIELD: Linda McLaughlin passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Avita Hospital, Ontario. She was 77.

She was born September 25, 1941 to parents William “Bill” & Eloise (Browning) Breitinger in Mansfield. Linda went to Mansfield Senior High before entering the U.S. Women Army Corps. After exiting the Army, she went on to receive her bachelors and master’s degree in education from the University of Kentucky.

She married John J. “Mac” McLaughlin and they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2017. Now they are together again.

Linda worked as a teacher for over 20 years in the Paris Independent Schools in Paris, Kentucky. She and John lived in many places including Texas, California, Fort Knox, Kansas and Taiwan. Together they took care of many dogs but Linda spoiled and babied Scarlet.

In spare time, she took pleasure in crochet and needlepoint. Even though she was an avid reader, she was no stranger to technology. But above all, Linda cherished her family and was very connected to them.

She is survived by siblings Jane Glaze, Martin (Vicki) Breitinger, Anita Smith, Mark (Mary) Breitinger and Milo (Kim) Breitinger as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Don Glaze.

A memorial service honoring the lives of both John “Mac” and Linda McLaughlin will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Linda’s family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them at
