Leora Elizabeth Moreland, 90, of Delaware passed away Tuesday evening September 24, 2013 at the Ashley Manor.

She was born March 9, 1923 in Franklin County, Ohio to Willard and Katherine (Fester) Wright.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, canning, freezing, gardening, chopping firewood, word search puzzles, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed cooking every Sunday for whatever family was able to stop by and enjoy. She was also known for her famous mashed potatoes amongst the family.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Sue (John) Skeens of Delaware; 2 sons, Robert A. (Mary) Moreland of Delaware and Larry E. (Sandra) Moreland of Ostrander; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd William Moreland, sisters Marguerite Miley, Katherine Johnston, Ida Mae Wright, Anna Percy, and Cora Jean Kurtz and brothers Willard Jr. and Carlisle “Bud” Wright.

The family will receive friends on Friday Sept. 27th from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 (noon). Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Snyder-Rodman Community Room following the services at graveside.
