Lee Wright Jr., age 68, of Fredericktown, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, November 9, 2005 of surgical complications.
Lee was born in Sunbury, Ohio on August 18, 1937 to the late Lee Sr. and Almeda (Hayes) Wright. He was raised in Columbus and resided there for over 25 years before moving to Fredericktown.
He worked for and retired from the Pepsi Cola Company in Columbus as a forklift operator. In the winters, Lee would plow snow for the Ohio Department of Transportation. He also worked as a security guard for his beloved Ohio State Buckeye Football games. Lee attended the Langley Church of God in Columbus, and more recently the Centerburg Church of God.
Lee was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed watching OSU football games, stock car racing at the Columbus Motor Speedway, NASCAR, fishing, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. His favorite time of the year was always Christmas, and he will be remembered for his Christmas spirit.
Lee was a very loving and devoted husband who was very “attached” to his wife Ora. Those who knew him will remember him for his loving and caring nature, and the joy he had for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Lee leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of almost 46 years, Ora (Rose) Wright, whom he married on December 31, 1959, Daughters: Atheline (Albert) Fields of Fredericktown, and Aileen (Lester) Fields of Marengo, Grandchildren: Crystal Ryan, Ora LaDonna Counts, and Robin (Eddie) Lassiter, Great-Grandchildren: Cody, Marissa, and a Baby Lassiter pending, Brother: Richard (Trudy) Wright of Washington Courthouse, Niece: Suzanna (Steve) Dudley, and Nephew: Richie (Tracy) Wright.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his Sister: Susanna Wright.
The family will greet friends on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at SR 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Jonathon Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Marengo Cemetery.
