LaVonne K. Pollock, age 84, of Mount Gilead, passed away Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017, at Marion General Hospital.

On May 16, 1933, LaVonne was born in Ashland County, OH, the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen Elizabeth (Herschler) Schrader.

She married Francis M. “Frank” Evert who preceded her in death in November 1964.  In 1969 she married Lloyd W. Pollock and he preceded her in death in January 2017.

For many years, LaVonne worked as a press operator for Ohio Arundale and also did laundry for Woodside Village Care Center.

In her younger years she enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles and camping at Hidden Lakes.  She was very passionate towards animals and loved her dogs.  She was also a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church.

LaVonne will be dearly missed by her son, Brian (Karyn) Evert of Marion; step-sons: Doug (Julie) Pollock of Findlay, Jeffrey Pollock of Upper Sandusky; step-daughter, Connie (Bill) Rinehammer of Upper Sandusky; a grandson, Brent (Heather) Evert of Marion; three great grandchildren: Brenden, Alex, Hunter; numerous step-grandchildren; a brother, Phil (Lou) Schrader of TN; and two sisters: Nancy Brentlinger of Cardington and Louise Maxxie of WA.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Baldwin.

LaVonne’s family will greet friends from 12Noon – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead.  Services to honor and celebrate her life will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jeff Slider officiating.  Burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be made in LaVonne’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
