LaDonna M. Guy, of Mount Gilead, passed away Saturday morning, January 3, 2015, at the Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville following several years of ill health.
She was born in Auglaize County, Cridersville, OH, to the late Elmer W. and Bertha (Harper) Fast. LaDonna has resided in Morrow County since 1966 and was co-owner with her husband of Guy’s Insurance Agency Inc. from 1968 until retiring in 1994. She was also co-owner, and founder of the Morrow County office, of H & R Block Tax Preparation from 1969 until selling it in 1979.
LaDonna’s favorite poem was “Our prayers have all been answered, I finally arrived, the healing that has been delayed has been realized.” She found strength in Psalm 23 and enjoyed hymns such as: ”Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, “In My Heart There Rings A Melody”, and “He Lives”.
She was of the Methodist Faith and joined the Prospect Methodist Church in 1954 when she moved back to Ohio. LaDonna later attended other churches such as Harmony Chapel United Methodist. She enjoyed visiting others churches and denominations as she truly loved the Lord and all of His people.
Her Husband George A. Guy passed away March 10, 2002. She leaves behind two sons: Larry A. (Gladys) Guy of Tallahassee, FL., And David A. (Sara) Guy of Mount Gilead; one daughter, Donna S. (William) Cackler of Delaware; ten grandchildren: Kimberly S. (Scott) Mehr, Stacie M. (Mark) Forbes, and Shannon R. (Brent) Zapata all of Tallahassee, FL., Bryan D. (Nicole) Guy and Lisa M. (Douglas) Beck both of Mount Gilead, K. Scott (Jessica) Guy of Alexandria, KY, Jeremy W. (Katie) Guy of Galion, Audra R. (Shane) Adkins of Delaware, Amber R. (Mathew) Buening and Alyssa J. Cackler of Columbus; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Alaska.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, George; son, Kevin W. Guy; a grand-daughter, Kelly E. Guy; a great grand-daughter, Jordan Mehr; three sisters; and four brothers.
A private family service was held with burial in Rivercliff Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Church of the Donors choice or Hospice of Morrow County and may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
