Kenneth W. “Doodie” Denny Sr., age 69 of Delaware passed away Monday afternoon, July 17, 2017 at Grant Medical Center following a several month illness.

He was born on December 18, 1947 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late George W. Denny and Phyllis (Burrows) Denny of Ashley.

Doodie formerly worked as a custodian with the Ohio Wesleyan University. Fond of hats and Western attire, he also enjoyed watching old Western and horror movies. In his free time he enjoyed building model cars and airplanes.

Ornery and a bit stubborn, he was described as an eccentric in his own unique way.  He also favored reading his Bible and playing with his canine companion, Baby and grandson.

He was most proud of his family, especially his grandson, and preaching the gospel which he did at the Lighthouse of Prayer.

Doodie was a beloved son, brother, father, and husband. He is survived by those whom he loved the most: wife of 46 years Thelma (Snyder), children: Jerry Warren Linscott and his wife, Michele Renee’ (Mark) Cummins, and Kenneth Warren Denny Jr. all of Marion, several grandsons, his mother Phyllis of Ashley, siblings: Ginger (Willoughby) Colley of Ashley, Steve (Kathy) Denny of Delaware, Christi (Michael) Reed, and Richard (Jenny) Denny all of Delaware, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr., Delaware, Ohio, 43015. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Radnor Cemetery.

Following the graveside services friends are invited to join the family back at the Community Room of Snyder Rodman Funeral Center. Attendees are asked to bring along a covered dish to share.

Memorial contributions can be made to any area Humane Society or Children’s Hospital.
