Katy Ault Phillips

MANSFIELD: Katharine E. “Katy” Ault Phillips, age 30, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after her courageous three year battle with melanoma cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in Holland, Ohio surrounded by family and friends. Her strength, courage, and faith in God were inspiring to all.
Katy was born April 8, 1982 in Mansfield. A 2000 graduate of Lexington High School, she received her undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of Toledo in 2004 and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Medical University of Ohio in 2006.
Katy had a genuine love of life. She enjoyed reading, playing with her nephews and yoga. She liked outdoor activities like skiing and watching football, and especially liked spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her loving, compassionate nature and always putting others needs before her own.
Katy is survived by her husband Jason Phillips, whom she married May 3, 2008; her mother and stepfather Linda & Mark Reisdorf; her father and stepmother Judge Jerry & Brenda Ault; and her sister and brother-in-law Emily & Eric Turlo all of Lexington; step-brothers Stephen and Spencer Parker of Lexington, Christopher Reisdorf of Greensboro, NC and Craig Reisdorf of Peoria, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Brandon & Sarah Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK; nephews Zachary and Cameron Turlo and Landon Parker; her father-in-law & mother-in-law Richard and Roxann Phillips of Oregon; maternal grandmother Dorothy Roberts of Mansfield; and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents James B. Roberts and Howard & Margaret Ault; and an aunt Sandra Byers.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 28, 2012 from noon to 4 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Toledo, where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
Visitation continues Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where a memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. Pastor David Pound will officiate. Private interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, in keeping with Katy’s wishes, her family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Katy Ault Phillips Melanoma Foundation, and can be made at the funeral home or any branch of Mechanics Savings Bank.
