MANSFIELD: Katie Isabelle Heaberlin, 95,  passed away February 2, 2019 in Crystal Care Center.

She was born August 6, 1923 in Carter County, KY to Herbert & Ethel (Sloan) Criswell, the youngest and only daughter of 8 children.  

On December 22, 1943, she married Howard Heaberlin who preceded her in death in 1976.  Now they are together again.

Isabelle worked at Therm-O-Disc, for over 20 years.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was in the choir, taught Sunday school, worked in the kitchen and spent hours volunteering. Isabelle enjoyed sewing, and helping the elderly and loved her Shih Tzu Molly.   

Surviving are daughters Gail Mellick of Mansfield, Carolyn (Don) Carney of Merida, Mexico; grandchildren Ryan Mellick, Christy Anthony, Julia Miller, Jeffrey Carney, Jill Scott, Jennifer Campbell, Janice Flowers, Joel Carney, James Carney, Joanna Feathers and John Carney; 27 great grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Leslie Susan Heaberlin, son-in-law Duane Mellick and all 7 brothers. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 11 am to 12 pm in Victory Baptist Church, 939 W. Cook Road where a funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Pastors John Wiseman and Jason Price will speak. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Isabelle’s caregivers at Crystal Care Center and dear friend Anita Reale.
