Kathryn Joann Phillips, age 74, of Beech Street, Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon with her family by her side.

She was born on March 15, 1940 in Knox County to the late John and Vivian (Vilfer) Smith. Kathryn enjoyed the time she spent with her friends and cherished every moment she spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband John Phillips; three daughters, Christina (Randy) Brown, Connie Tiller, Debbie Lonzo; her son Michael (Jill) Phillips; five grandchildren, Jeff Coons, Angela Coons, Jessica Lonzo, Adam Phillips, Brent Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Skylar Coons, Rylee Coons, Hunter Mead; two brothers, George (Betty) Smith and Bob (Gwen) Smith; her lifelong friend Pearl Melease and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Rinard and her brother Edward Smith.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2-3 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow beginning at 3 PM with Chaplain Andrew Angel officiating.
