Kathleen Ann Banks, age 72 of Delaware died early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2008 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City.
She was born on June 1, 1935 in Delaware to the late Frank J. and Louise (Mendenhall) Banks. A graduate of Willis High School in 1953, she had been a lifelong resident of the Delaware area.
She retired from the Girls Industrial School and Scioto Village, where she worked as a cottage leader. She also managed Bank’s Market and the Poet’s Lounge in Mansfield.
A member of AMVets Post 003, she enjoyed fishing as well was reading detective and romance novels. She attended the Second Baptist Church in Delaware and the New Birth Christian Ministries in Columbus. Always helpful and appreciative, she enjoyed a good sense of humor. Generous and hardworking, she dedicated to her family, friends and coworkers. She collected dolls, took delight in a good meal and was sincerely loyal.
Survived by her children: Belinda Bradley of Canal Winchester, Roslyn Jordan of Columbus, Charles Wesley (Jackie) Jordan Jr. of Columbus, Moni Jordan of Delaware, 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren, Brothers: Winston Banks of Springfield, Rodney (Lois) Banks of Cardington, Collie Banks, Forrest “Bud” (Elma) Banks, and Richard Mason all of Delaware, Sisters: Carolyn Smith Joyce of Delaware, Joyce Fashola of Cleveland, Elsie Richardson of Wilberforce, Hazel (Thomas) Moxley of Delaware, Sister-in-law: Christine Banks of Delaware, Brother-in-law: Theron Harris of Delaware, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by Brothers: Walter and Frank Jr., Sisters: Louise Harris and Bonnie Lou Banks.
Friends may call Monday from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where services will follow Monday at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Kenneth Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
