Karen S. Davidson

May 29, 1945 ‒ September 08, 2021

Bladensburg, Ohio

Karen S. Davidson, 76, of Bladensburg died unexpectedly in the ICU unit at Knox Community Hospital on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  She was born on May 29, 1945 to the late E.E. Hall and Harriett Hall, graduate of Union High School, class of 1963.  She moved from Fallsburg, Ohio in 1966 with her husband Oscar Sr. to Jug Run Road where she has lived the last 55 years.

Karen is definitely no stranger to the Bladensburg community. She and Oscar Sr. raised all 3 of their children there.  Later in life she worked for the Mount Vernon News, returned to Bladensburg and worked at Davidson Grocery, cared for small children and stray animals that the kids just knew she would want to keep.  Her kindred spirit, sweet voice, huge smile, gentle and caring soul with a heart as big as the sun, she meant so much to so many.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. We know for sure now on Saturday’s this fall Mom, Grammie Hall and Oscar Jr. will enjoy watching OSU football together.  “Go Buckeyes”

Known as Grandma Karen for years to Jon and Nicholas Hardesty and Mam Mam to Rochelle and Miranda Murvine and most recently to her God daughter, Lauren Hardesty as “KK”

Karen is survived by her children, Rodney Davidson of Bladensburg, Theresa Davidson of Howard and  adopted daughter, Lovina Davidson of Newark; sisters, Betty (Ken) Holbrook of Newark and Marlene Staunton of Mansfield; a brother, Dan (Marvelle) Hall of Zanesville; two aunts and one uncle of Warsaw, Ohio, cousins, nieces and nephews; and dearest friends, Peg Hardesty and Roxanne Berry.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Davidson Sr.; and a son, Oscar Davidson Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating the life of Karen at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.  Minister Stan Ratliff will officiate.  A private burial will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Rd., Mount Vernon, OH 43050 in Karen’ s memory.
