Joyce Jean Bailey
June 12, 1939 ‒ April 13, 2012
Joyce J. Finical Bailey, age 72, of Galion, died late Friday evening, April 13, 2012, at the Millcreek Care Center in Galion, following a two year illness.
On June 12, 1939, Joyce was born in Galion, the oldest of five children of the late Paul Floyd and Ruth Elizabeth (Garverick) Finical. She graduated from Galion High School in the Class of 1957.
For many years, Joyce worked at PECO in Galion, working as an inspector of electronic components. Previously, she had worked at North Electric in Galion.
In April of 1979, Joyce married her loving husband, Hobert Bailey. Together they shared 22 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on May 26, 2001. They were members of the V.F.W. in Mount Gilead.
With her smile that would light up the room, Joyce spread cheer and joy everywhere she went. She also enjoyed “cutting up”, and you knew you were in for a good time if you were with her. She also enjoyed reading, painting, and making crafts and ceramics.
Having a heart of gold, Joyce always worried about everyone else, making sure her family and friends were well taken care of. She also loved all animals, and most especially her beloved cats. Most important of all to Joyce, was her family, and she absolutely adored all of her nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her 4 step-children: Barry Bailey of Mount Gilead, Vickie Williamson of Cardington, Kathy Lewis of Galion, and Donna Fowler of Mount Gilead; 7 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren; four siblings: Paul (Janet) Finical of Tabor City, NC, Jackie (Gerald) Breem of Newville, PA, Jean Lehner of Mansfield, OH, and Joan (Frank) Ventrone of Bucyrus, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will observe services privately in the Crawford County Memorial Gardens in Crestline, with Kent Smith from the Truth Baptist Church in West Salem, Ohio, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.
