Joshua Ryan Thompson, age 28, of Upper Sandusky and formerly from Chesterville and Marion, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 at The Kobacker House in Columbus after a lengthy struggle with Huntington’s Disease.

Josh was born in Marion, Ohio on August 24, 1991 to Vernon Eugene Thompson and Elizabeth Ann Forman.  Josh attended Oak Street Elementary School, Taft Middle School and later graduated from Highland High School and Tri-Rivers in 2009.  While attending Tri-Rivers, Josh was enrolled in the EMT and Firefighting program earning his certification. Josh was a member of the Highland Navy Jr. ROTC.  After graduation, Josh worked for Cracker Barrel and Silverline Industries.

Always smiling and having a quick joke, Josh was best known as the family clown.  He loved to spend time with his lifelong friends playing video games and sports.  In younger years, Josh was the best catcher on the baseball team and could outrun anyone on the soccer field.

Josh was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Josh is survived by mother, Elizabeth Ann Forman (stepfather, Kevin Kermit Lyons) ; brother, Justin (Brittaney) Thompson and niece Ansley Lynn Thompson of Delaware, Ohio; sister, Hannah Rachel Lyons of Chesterville; and brother, James Kaleb Lyons of Chesterville, Ohio. Also surviving is aunt, Patricia Louise Winders of Sacramento, California; uncle, James David Forman of Marion, Ohio; uncle, John Ray Forman; and aunt, Sharon Forman of Belleville, Illinois; uncles, Charles Allen Forman and Terry Allen Thompson, and aunt, Tabbi Thompson all of Marion, Ohio. Aunt Sherry Thompson Of Chattfield Ohio. His grandfather, Mark Kennedy; aunts, Kelly Kennedy and Allie McComas of Caledonia also survive.

Josh is preceded in death by his brother, C.J. Thompson; father, Vernon Eugene Thompson; grandfather, James Clifford Forman, grandmother, Margaret Virginia Forman; grandfather, Marvin Butch Thompson; grandmother, Carol Elaine Kennedy; uncles, Vince and Victor Thompson; aunt, Valerie Thompson Brewer; and cousin, Mercedes Jade Chapman.

Visitation will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel on Wednesday September 25, 2019 from 11 am until 1 pm.  A 1 pm funeral will be held to remember Josh, at the funeral home, with Chaplain John Ray Forman officiating.  Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
