Joseph J. “Joe” Hedrick, 50, of County Road 121, Mount Gilead, died Sunday morning February 2, 2003, in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a short illness.

He was born May 27, 1952 in Mount Gilead. Joe was graduated from Galion High School with the Class of 1972, and had been an area resident all his life.

He worked as a truck driver with D&S Distribution in Marion and previously with Yellow Freight. Joe was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #40. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and particularly loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was also a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, riding horses, and mowing his lawn. Joseph attended the Cardington Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn E. (Letang) Hedrick, whom he married July 3, 1992; two daughters and a son-in-law Jackie and Lawrence Schreck of Mansfield, and Cori Young of Lancaster; a son and daughter-in-law Jason and Tina Hedrick of Galion; a step son Toby Moore of Columbus; a step daughter Tracey and Scott Hershner of Bellville; his parents Roy and Mary C. (Weis) Hedrick of Cardington; seven grandchildren: Tara, Jenna, and Jacob Stevens, Jared Young, and Michael, Kayla and Alexis Hedrick; a brother John Hedrick of Tiro, two sisters Rosanne Christman of Galion and Debbie Stivers of Hillsboro.

Friends may call Tuesday February 4, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11am, with Pastor Phil Hurlbert officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
