John Workman, age 70, of Columbus formerly of Delaware died Wednesday morning, August 24, 2005 at the Columbus West Park Nursing Center.

He was born in Belfry, KY to the late John B. and Effie (Marcum) Workman. John spent the majority of his life in the Columbus area, working for Federal Glass, General Furniture, Service Master and retired from Columbus Wood Products in 1998. A member of Eagles Lodge #376, he enjoyed a good game of poker and dancing the jitter bug. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a sports fan and followed the Atlanta Braves, OSU, as well as the Cincinnati Reds and Bengal’s.

Survived by Daughters: Brenda (Chris) Herald of Columbus, Diane (John) Black of Columbus, Carolyn Workman (Rick McDole) of Delaware, Son: Ronnie (Cris) Workman of Ft. Gay, KY, 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, former wife: Winifred (Murfield) Workman of Delaware, Sisters: Chole Cook, Helen Phillips, Loretta Workman, Linda Workman, Cathy Brown, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

In addition to his parents his was also preceded in death by Step-mother: Dell Workman, Step-Daughter: Patricia Logan, Sisters: Loretha Brankham and Rose Stanly.

Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m., Rev. David Adams officiating, burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
