John Junior Oiler
June 24, 1936 ‒ July 19, 2018
John Junior Oiler, age 82, of Marion, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Presidential Care Center of Marion.
John was born June 24, 1936 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late John Henry and Ethel Otto (Martin) Oiler. John worked for more than 20 years at Wyandotte Concrete and after his retirement enjoyed helping his grandson, Michael, mow.
John enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and could often be found sitting on this porch watching the chickens play and the trees blowing in the wind. He was sure to never miss a chance to have coffee at Denny’s in Marion with his friends, especially Richard Sheets. To say John had a passion for reality TV is an understatement; he could often be found watching Cops, Judge Judy, or Impractical Jokers with a Clark Bar in his hand. John made sure he had his daily dose of Kim Hopper’s music who he joking said was his girlfriend.
John was extremely proud of his four daughters, who will miss him dearly, Karla (Gary) Onesko of Marion, Sandra Lea Oiler of California, Janet Jean (William) Newsome of Marion, and Lisa Rochelle (Eddie) Evans of Marion; grandchildren, Amanda, Haley, Brittany, Felicia, Jonathan, Brayden, Michael and Kenny, numerous great-grandchildren and siblings, Jake (Lawrence) Oiler and Donna Jean Oiler.
John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Thomas Henry Oiler, Ralph Edward Oiler, Charles Howard Oiler, Mary Katherine Oiler and Frances Evelyn Oiler.
Visitation will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel Monday, July 23, 2018 from 10:00 am until a 12 noon funeral service with Pastor Steve Estep officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
