John F. “Jack” Cameron, 86, of Galion died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at home after a brief illness.

Born June 3, 1928 in Galion, he was the son of James and Ina Mae (Rife) Cameron. He married Betty Jane (Connolly) Cameron on June 13, 1978 and she survives.

He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1947 and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. John was a foreman at the former Cleland Manufacturing in Galion retiring in 1990 and was a member of VFW Lodge 4329 in Galion.

In addition to his wife Betty he is survived by step-daughters Patricia Haag and Bob Pring of Phippsburg, ME and Phyllis (Jeff) Atkinson of Loveland; step-son Timothy Weber of Houston, TX; daughter Jane (Charles) Radcliffe of AL; step-grandchildren Chris (Lindsay) Atkinson of Westfield, IN and Elizabeth (Joel) Ahlquist of Cincinnati; step great-grandsons Asher and Jesse Atkinson; step great-granddaughters Coralaine and Adelaide Ahlquist; brother R.T. “Ted” (Ruth) Cameron of Galion and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son James P. Cameron, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion with Rev. Monty Trammel officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the United States Air Force and Galion/Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.

Memorial contributions may be made to Galion/Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail or Homecare Matters Hospice in care of the funeral home.
