Jean Moore, 81, of Galion, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at home.
Born Apr. 30, 1927 in Holden, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Lee Huff and Lucy Alice Ray Huff. She married Delbert Moore on Aug. 31, 1946 and he survives.
Jean was an avid reader and loved to cook and travel. She always took great vacations with her family and especially liked going to the beach. Her most recent employment was at Abbot Cords and Cables where she worked in quality control and was the union representative. She previously worked at Island Creek Coal Co. where she was an executive secretary.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles D. Moore and his companion, Nadine Lozier of Mansfield, Daniel E. and Sara Michelle Moore of Bucyrus and William Dean and Lisa Moore of Galion; one daughter, Debra “Debi” Moore of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Charles Moore, Denise Scott Hornikel, Erin Grammer, Desiree Brad Windsor, Jaclyn Danielle Moore, Darcie Moore and William Derek Moore; 14 great-grandchildren, Bryan Moore, Claudia Moore, Tiffani Hornikel, Ashley Hornikel, Jaron Grammer, Reba Grammer, Nora Grammer, Carter Windsor, Kendall Windsor, Gavin Meinzer, Zane Kincade, Holden Davis, Austin Woogerd and Donavan Moore; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Nita Huff of Seneca, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Rose Huff, Julie Souza and Lassa Hughes and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter Britney Hornikel; one sister, Audrey Hensley and two brothers, Kenneth Huff and James Huff.
Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 7, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Mar.7, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in Logan, W. Va.
