Jason Lee Benson, age 20 of Delaware died Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2006 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus from injuries sustained in a single automobile accident on Horseshoe Road in Delaware.

He was born on March 10, 1985 in Flemington, New Jersey, where he resided until 1986, when he came to Delaware. A graduate of Delaware Hayes High School Class of 2003, in his younger years he excelled in the middle school wrestling program. An aspiring race car driver, he was locally employed in Delaware.

Known for his big heart, while being wild and crazy, he was always stretching things to the limit. He was energetic and strong with a sense of humor. A talented race car driver and former member of Team USA, he excelled at dwarf car modlite racing. Jason enjoyed breaking the rules, dirt bike riding, auto mechanics, and playing Xbox games.

Meade, MD, Sister: Colleen Benson of Corning, Half Sister: Vickie Satinsky of Atlantic, NJ, Step-Sister: Jennifer Rose of Delaware, Step-Brothers: Pete, Doug, and Nick Rose of Delaware, Grandparents: Doris Johnson of Flemington, NJ, Robert (Eileen) Hurley of Delaware, Aunts and Uncles: Michael Johnson, Bridget Johnson of Pittsburg, PA, Karen (Jeff) Emmons of Wallingford, PA, Carol (Dick) McGowan of Delaware, Janet (Tom) Davis of Ostrander, Adopted Aunt: Julie Wright of Powell, special canine friend a Weaton Terrier named: Bowser and numerous other friends. His family and friends loved him more than he knew.

Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where memorial services will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m., with Pastor David Minniear officiating.
