Janet McCurdy, age 53 of Marion, passed away Saturday September 28, 2019 at her home.

Janet was born on March 30, 1966 in Ironton, the daughter of Delmer and Lavina (Allen) Smith.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth McCurdy on April 2, 1982; they have shared 37 years of marriage.

Janet was a devoted homemaker to her family. She adored her children and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Family was everything and she happiest when they were all gathered together.

Her memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Kenneth McCurdy, Sr.; children: Kenneth McCurdy, Jr., Delmer McCurdy, Autumn McCurdy and Tequila Mannaring; grandchildren: Zach, Austin, Luna, and Leah McCurdy, Trinity Clark and Michael Mannaring, Jr.; siblings: George Smith, JoAnna McConnell, and Martha Thompson.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Philip Smith and Delmer Smith,Jr. and a grandson, Aaden Mannaring.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion from 10AM to 12Noon; Funeral service will follow at 12Noon; burial will be in Agosta Cemetery, New Bloomington.

  • She was beautiful mysterious and had a huge heart! My heart is broken for my uncle and cousins! I’m here always, and although we all may not talk daily my childhood memories are filled with many treasured memories because of you all and her especially! Sneaking in her room to use her makeup and nail polish staying up watching our parents down stairs while we should have been asleep running playing crying but most of all just being together! I’ll never ever forget anything take care of everybody else up there Aunt Sis because that’s you, you took care of everyone!! I love you forever and always
