Jane M. Roth, age 81 of Marion, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Heartland of Marion.

Jane was born on April 17, 1937 in Marion, the daughter of George Westley and Geneva (Hatcher) Keener. Jane graduated from Harding High School with the class of 1954. The following year, Jane was united in marriage to Frederick Harley Roth on November 26th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. The couple was married 58 years until Fred preceded her in death on January 5, 2014.

Jane worked for Sanese Service, Inc. along with Midfield, National City Bank and was the bookkeeper for Fred H. Roth and Sons Garage.

Above all, Jane was a devoted homemaker. She adored her family and loved them unconditionally. Jane was an avid gardener, planting a huge garden every year. When harvest time came, it was a family affair of freezing sweet corn, picking beans, pod peas, canning tomatoes, and making homemade pickles and pizza sauce. She was a tremendous cook and also loved to bake; her bread pudding and rhubarb pie’s was legendary.

Jane is survived by her five children: Fred (Brenda) Roth of Marion, Pamela (Dwight) Wells of Prospect, Jamey (Beth) Roth of Caledonia, Rick (Julie) Roth of Cardington, Kristy (Pat) Lee of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings: George (Ruth) Keener, Janet (Robert) Brown and Marcia Keener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Frederick H. Roth; grandson, Theron Jacob Roth; and her brother Fred Keener.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 4PM to 7PM at the Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating her life will be held there on Friday at 10AM with Pastor Brett Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
