Jane E. (Park) Ulrey

Jane E. (Park) Ulrey, age 86, of Chesterville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Morrow Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on December 18, 1930, in Delaware, OH, to the late Marion T. and Lucy Imogene (Ufferman) Park. Jane graduated from Marengo High School in the class of 1948.
After going on a blind date, Jane married the love of her life Donald E. “Don” Ulrey whom preceded her in death. The two were united together on April 9, 1949 in New Port, KY and had shared 65 wonderful years of marriage together.
Jane was a wonderful wife of a farmer and mother to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, canning the variety of produce grown and raised on the farm, and tending to her garden. Later in life, Jane and Don often enjoyed their winter months traveling to Bradenton, Fl. Jane was a member of the Farm Bureau, Chester Baptist Church where she served as past treasurer, election board, and Evelyn Chapter of the Eastern Star where she also served as past treasurer.
Jane will be missed by her five sons: Steve (Linda) Ulrey of Centerburg, Larry (Cheri) Ulrey of Marengo, Philip (Dianna) Ulrey of Wichita, KS, Dan (Susan) Ulrey of Indianapolis, IN, and Paul (Sandy) Ulrey of Cardington; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with two on the way; brother, Mike Park of Cardington; sister, Linda Morris of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Clyde “Bud”, Gene, and Thomas Park; and sisters: Mary Starkey, Donna Jones, Hazel “Curly” Tharp, JoAnn Singery, and Betty Preston.
The Ulrey family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead). An order of the Eastern Star service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. with the Evelyn Chapter performing the ceremony. Services celebrating her life will be held there on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Wythe officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
