James A. “Jim” Tucker

James A. “Jim” Tucker, 75, of Galion passed away Sunday morning, December 24, 2017 at the Galion Hospital.
He was born March 12, 1942 in Robertsburg, West Virginia and was the son of Georgie Allen and Felicia Effie (Hayes) Tucker.
James graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, West Virginia and served his country in the United States Army. He had worked at the former Perfection-Cobey Company and Valentec, both in Galion and also HPM Mfg. in Mt. Gilead where he worked in maintenance and general assembly.
Jim enjoyed going to Mansfield Raceway, the Mt. Gilead pony shows, carpentry and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife on many years, Joy (Dowell) Tucker of Galion; daughter Lisa Tucker of Galion; son and daughter-in-law Charles Allen “Chuck” and Brenda Tucker of Scarbro, West Virginia; three grandchildren Cara, Sara and Thomas Allen Morasco all of Galion; three great-grandchildren Mia Allyce Alvarado, Mason James Eugene Alvarado and Elizabeth Nicole Brady; sister Linda Herdman Cantrell of Arbuckle Creek, West Virginia; one brother Steve Tucker of Leon, West Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by four brothers, Homer, Hobart, Warren and Ernest Tucker and six sisters, Loretta Faye Jeffers, Hazel Tucker, Georgia Avaline Tucker, Peggy Tucker, Isabell Saad and Martha Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at RICHARDSON DAVIS CHAPEL of SNYDER FUNERAL HOMES, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Additional calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at RAYNES FUNERAL HOME, 2117 Buffalo Road Buffalo, West Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Oma Chapel Church, Grimms Landing with Pastor Bobby Herdman officiating. Burial will be in Craig Cemetery, Grimms Landing.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
