James H. “Jim” Sims

LEXINGTON: James H. “Jim” Sims, 74, of Lexington passed away at home following an apparent heart attack, Sunday March 11, 2018.

The son of Delbert and Lois (Fletcher) Sims, Jim was born February 12, 1944.

He retired from HS Automotive.  Simple and easy going, Jim was easy to please.  He followed NASCAR and cheered for Tony Stewart.  Jim was handy and enjoyed repairing lawn mowers.

He is survived by his wife Patrice (Fitzgerald) Sims of Lexington; daughters Regi and Doug Adams of Marysville and Jamie Sims of Sacramento, California; grandchildren Presleigh and Jordan Britton, Brandon and Camryn Hensel, Griffin and Hudson Force, and Katie and Marlee Beacom; great grandchildren Xavier Hensel, Marley Jerew, and Remmington Darling; step-sons Rob Beacom and Kelly Wilfong of Columbus, Jamie and Lisa Beacom of Ashtabula, and Chris and Crystal Beacom of Columbus; siblings Sonny and Ann Sims of Mansfield, Beverly Greter of Galion, and Sandy Dean of Mansfield; along with nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Force.

Jim’s family will receive friends Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1pm – 3pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 3 pm.

Memorial contributions to Troy Township Firefighters Association may be made through the funeral home.
