James D. Myer, 88, of Plain City, died Tuesday evening at his daughter’s residence in Plain City. He was born August 14, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio to Arthur C. and Minnie M. (Holmes) Myer. He was a World War II United States Army sargeant serving in Company D 322D Medical Battalion and a supervisor for the Union Clothing Company. He was also a former member of the Delaware Kiwanis Club. He is survived by a daughter, Carol (Bill) Davis of Plain City; 2 sons, Kenneth (Suzanna) Myer of Missoula, Montana and Donald Myer of Columbus; grandchildren, Jim (Rachel) Maxwell, Jill (Jeffrey) Mills, Juliann Susmilch, and Ashley Davis; great grandchildren, B’Elana Susmilch, Kieran Susmilch, and Ethan Maxwell; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2002, 3 brothers Benjamin, Carl, and Dick and 2 sisters Gene Shears and Meda Myer. Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday January 24th at 2:00 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware. The family will receive friends from 12:00 (Noon) until time of services. Burial will be at a later date at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway.
