Jack L. Nelson, 70, of 691 Elm Street , Galion died Sunday, August 3, 2003 in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness.

Born March 16, 1933 in Galion, he was the son of the late Roy and Emma Kopfman Nelson.

He was a lifetime Galion resident and graduated from Galion High School in 1951. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a member of Community Christian Church of Galion, American Legion Scarbrough Post #243, Polk Township AMVETS Post #1979 and Galion Moose Lodge #303.

He worked at the former Perfection-Cobey Co. in Galion for 35 years where he was a machinist and retired in 1984.

Surviving are his wife, the former Wilma J. Carver, whom he married May 7, 1955, three daughters and a son-in-law, Julie and Bill Queen, of Galion, Kathy Lake and Sherri Triplett, of Ontario, four grandchildren, Jason Kragh, Faith Lake, Chelsea Triplett and Brittany Triplett, two great grandchildren, John and Austin Kragh and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn Ackinclose and Sandy and Dana Fodor, of Galion.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 6 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Dr. Daniel Turner officiating.

Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
