Jack D. Davis, age 63 loving devoted husband, dad, and papaw of Galena passed Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 29, 1941 in Vales Mill, Oh. to the late Jack L. and Velma (Perry) Davis. Retired sales manager with Owens Corning formerly Alsco. Galena area resident since 1987 coming from Columbus. Member of Orphans’ Friend Lodge No. 275 F & AM, Wilkesville, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus 33 degree, Aladdin Shrine, Shrine Hospitality Unit, and Central Ohio Home Plate Club. He was an avid bowler, a good golfer, and enjoyed deer hunting.

Survived by loving wife of 43 years, Lorna (Nelson), loving daughters: Teresa (Mike) Brown of Westerville, Tammy (Rusty) Thompson of Worthington, Tara (Joe) Ciaciura of Galena; Grandsons “Papaw’s little buddies” Michael, Kenny, Jack Brown, Tommy Ciaciura, Sister: Barbara (Jack) Allman of Albany, OH, Brother: Ronald(Eileen) Davis of Radcliff, numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends.

Friends may call Saturday 5-8 p.m. Masonic Service at 6 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Monday 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Mickey Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Burnside Cemetery.
