Helen Jennings, age 88, of Mount Vernon, died Monday May 13, 2002 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. Helen was born July 12, 1913 in Mount Vernon to Stanley C. and Bertha (Blubaugh) Banbury and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She had been employed at Continental Can Company in Mount Vernon and had served as bookkeeper for Jennings Garage in Mount Vernon which was owned by her husband Russell.
She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Church in Mount Vernon and the VFW Auxiliary in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are her son Donald (Lynn) Fry of Washington her granddaughter Cassie, and her close friend Catherine Wells of Mount Vernon. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Jennings, a grandson Donnie Fry; 4 brothers Claude Banbury, Bernard Banbury, Stanley Banbury and Carl Banbury and 3 sisters Rilla Hoehl, Dorothy Rine and Florence Beltz.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 PM at Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where friends may call Thursday from Noon to 2 PM. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
