Harry F. Davis, 72 of Delaware, died Friday April 14, 2006, at his residence. He was born August 18, 1933, in Delaware, to the late Murrel and Elsie (Slane) Davis. Harry was a graduate of Willis High School, Class of 1951. After High School he joined the United States Army, and became a Field Audio Repairman, serving in both Germany and Korea. After the service he worked for Bargdill’s Garage for many years before going to work for the City of Delaware in 1972, until retirement, as a mechanic working on many special projects such as building the city’s Leaf Machine. He was a member of the Delaware Moose Lodge. Harry was and avid fisherman and woodworker. He loved to pitch horseshoes and fish on Lake Erie. He was supporter of the East Side Mission Church in Delaware.

Harry is survived by his wife of 49 years Janet (Davenport); Son, Dale Davis of Columbus; Brenda (Rick) Ramey of Delaware; grandsons Joshua (Terri) Ramey and Jeremy Ramey of Delaware; great-granddaughter Ashton Crystal Ramey; brother-in-law, Walter (Erma) Davenport; sisters –in-law, Grace Wood and Wyvetta Davenport and many other extended family and friends.

Proceeded in death by his Parents; grandson Ricky Ramey, brother Bill (Mary) Davis; sisters Alva (Fred) Stano, Dorothy (Bill) Koehler, Edna (Harry) Bargdill and Marian Davis; brother-in-law Charles Davenport and Earl Davenport.

Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home 75 West William Street, Delaware, where the funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Donnie B. Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware.
