Harold Elmer “Shorty” Ullom

Harold Elmer “Shorty” Ullom, age 82 of Croton, died Tuesday evening at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 27, 1930 in Westerville to the late Charles E. and Verna (Murray) Ullom. A 1948 graduate of Hartford High school and named to the 2nd Team All Licking County for football. Korean Army Air Force Veteran with a rank of Staff Sergeant and faithful member of the Croton Church of Christ. He was a lifelong supporter of the Hartford Fair and a 50 year member of the Hartford Volunteer Fire Department holding various positions including Chief. He served on the Hartford Zoning Board and was a lifelong dairy farmer. Represented the Republican Party as Licking County Central Committeeman. Member of Center Lodge No. 86 F&AM and 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus.
Survived by his wife of 58 years: Glenola (Potter) Ullom; son: Mike (Kim) Ullom of Croton; daughter: Kathy (Mike) Zogelman of College Springs, IA; grandchildren: Emily (Jason) Monnat, Evan (Caitlin) Ullom, Katie and Lindsay Zogleman, Logan Ullom; great granddaughter: Ella Jane Monnat; sister: Wilma Jean Fuller; many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded by brothers: Carl, Harrison, Charles Jr., Kenneth Ullom; sister: Anna Jane Waldron, Josephine Kaiser, Lucy Kathrine Zinn.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m., Masonic Service at 8 p.m., at the Croton Church of Christ, 40 S. Main Street, Croton, Ohio 43013 where services will be held Saturday 10 a.m. with Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.
