Gwendolyn S. Poland, age 67, of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio.  She was born on January 25, 1954, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Robert L. and Erma (Davis) Jones.

Gwen graduated from Mount Vernon High School and soon after met the love of her life, James Poland.  She was a homemaker and cherished the time raising her son Vince.  Her greatest joy in life was watching her grandchildren grow and play sports.

Gwen is survived by her son, Vinson (Andrea) Poland; grandchildren, Ryann Mackenzie Poland, Alexander James “A.J.” Poland, Hendrix Poland; a sister, Debbie (Ken) Schwab; brothers, Robert (Martha) Jones, Brent Jones; canine companion, Barnie; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, James “Animal” Poland.

A celebration of life service will take place at a later date at Ebenezer Cemetery.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Gwendolyn S. Poland.
