Gloria M. Heefner, 80, of 935 Rosewood Drive, Galion, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Center in Galion.

Born Dec. 25, 1925 in Pa., she was the daughter of the late Walter Sharpe Wiley and Clemence Pierce Wiley. She was preceded in death on May 3, 1995 by her husband, Earl R. “Red” Heefner, Sr. whom she married on February 12, 1945.

She was a member of Southview Baptist Church, was a homemaker and retired from Essex in Lexington. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gardening and caring for stray animals.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Maxine Vollmer Carpenter of Mansfield; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Earl R., Jr. and Carol Heefner, of Galion, Larry A. and Shirley Heefner of Crestline and Lester R. Heefner of rural Galion; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Leo Wiley and Luther Wiley, both of Pa. and Glen Wiley of Russells Point and one brother-in-law, Glen Cummings of Tiro.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys and Esther and one brother Chester.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2006 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006 with Pastor David Cline officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington.
