Gloria L. Amrine, age 81, of Benton Place, Marion, died on Monday evening, February 19, 2007, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.
She was born in Marion, Ohio, on October 23, 1925, the daughter of the late William C. and Dorothy A. (Dennis) Kaelber. Gloria graduated from Marion Harding High School.
Gloria married her loving husband of over 39 years, Luther J. Amrine, on February 18, 1943, in the parsonage of Epworth United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1982.
Gloria worked in the market research department for Spencer Research.
She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Lydia Chapter # 83 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Gloria will be missed by two sons: Stewart E. (Glorianne) Amrine of Marion and Bruce D. (Tammy) Amrine of Westerville; three daughters Judy (Robert) LaBounty of Yuma, AZ, Sandy Amrine and Susan (Jerry) Snyder both of Marion; eight grandchildren Randy, Mindy, Justin, Kirk, Sarah, Zac, Beth and Anna; eight great-grandchildren Riley, Casey, Jacob, Ethan, Shelby, Alexi, Sydney and Sabastian.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Bob, Harold and Jack; and one sister Betty Kaelber.
The family will greet friends on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., with hospital chaplain Rev. Daniel Kiger officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
Following the committal service a meal will be provided at the American Legion Post 584, 142 Olney Avenue, Marion, Ohio 43302.
