Glorene June (Young) Shock

March 11, 1941 ‒ May 13, 2018

Butler, Ohio

BUTLER: Glorene was about building relationships with all those around her. If Glorene had a list of things to do or places to go, the first thing she would do would be to find someone to go with her. She enjoyed time with everyone from her family, friends, cousins, classmates, to her church family. Glorene will be missed by each of them.

Because of her strong faith in Christ, we can rest assured as of Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018 she is now in the loving arms of Jesus, celebrating with friends and family who have gone before her. We rejoice with her.

She was born March 11, 1941 to parents Albert Franklin & Rachel Blanche (Wells) Young in Bellville. Glorene graduated from Bellville High School with the class of 1959; she made sure to attend every alumni banquet she could.

On June 27, 1964, she married Glenn L. Shock and they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together. She and Glenn helped start and build Clear Fork Alliance Church. Later in life they attended North Woodbury Alliance Church.

Glorene spent her time as a homemaker, taking care of everyone in her family. She enjoyed dancing, watching her cooking shows, playing euchre with the family and was a proud Ohio State football fan.

A few of her favorite vacation places were the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and Gatlinburg, TN. But most of all, she loved to help her husband host “Grandma & Grandpa Camp”, where every year they would orchestrate a variety of fun activities for the grandkids. She dearly loved her grandchildren and anything they were involved in.

She is survived by her husband Glenn L. Shock; daughters Tammy (Scott) Ransdell and Rachel (Michael) Schuiling; grandchildren Grant Ransdell, Chauntzy Schuiling and Piersen Schuiling; preceding her in death were her parents.

Glorene’s family will receive friends Friday, May 18, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. & 5-7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service honoring her life will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Cory Schnuerer will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Glorene’s family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them at
