Glenna Miller Blackburn, age 84 of Marion, passed away at her home on Friday, October 11, 2019.

Glenna was born in Marion on January 2, 1935, the daughter of George and Mary Mae (Chapman) Miller.

Glenna was a devoted homemaker, raising her four children and showering them with love, always proving for all of their needs. She was a generous woman and helped anyone in need. Glenna loved nature and enjoyed hiking. Her favorite place to hike was in the Red Wood Forest in California. She had a “green thumb” and delighted in her beautiful flower gardens and plentiful vegetable gardens. Her dog Chips was always by her side bringing her so much joy.

She is survived by her beloved children: Lee R. Turner, Glenda L. Mercer, Wayne E. Turner and Linda D. Turner; she has 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a brother, Nelson Miller.

Glenna is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 grandchildren and her devoted companion of 35 years, Fred P. Hendrickson.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 1PM at Agosta Cemetery in New Bloomington with Celebrant Mark Schuring officiating.

  • I’m so sorry to hear about Aunt Glenna’s passing. I remember her and you kids from our youth but them time moved us apart from each other. I seen her a few years past at a reunion and got to speak with her. I’m one of Arliss and Martha’s daughters. I send prayers of peace and comfort for you all. R.I.P Aunt Glenna
