Glenn Harvey Saylor, 89, of Galion, died Sunday, Apr. 15, 2012 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Center in Galion after an extended illness.

Born Apr. 14, 1923 in Ridgway, Penn., he was the son of the late George and Celesta June Clyde Saylor. He married Gearlene “Gerry” Louden Baldinger Saylor on July 23, 1983 and she survives.

He was a graduate of Bradford High School in Bradford, Penn. and was a World War II United States Army Air Corp veteran.

He was previously a Galion City Police Officer for 16 years and then worked as a quality control inspector for the U.S. Government and the former Galion Amco. He retired from Poland True Value Hardware in Galion after 18 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-daughters and spouse; Linda Joyce Baldinger of Galion and Penney and Jerry Nickelson of Bucyrus; one step-son, Tim Baldinger of Galion; 13 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren and one sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Ralph Cowell of Bradford, Penn..

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bud Saylor and one grandson.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 18, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 18, with Pastor J. C. Church officiating. Interment will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Full military honors will be held graveside by the United States Army and the Galion/Crestline are veteran’s organizations.
