Glen H. Wood, 79 of Delaware passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Delaware Court Nursing Home after an extended illness.

He was born July 8, 1939 in Delaware, Ohio, the son of the late Harley & Ora (Bailey) Wood. Glen attended and later graduated from Willis High School in Delaware. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958- 1961, just missing the Vietnam War. Glen was a bus driver for Alpha Industries, and was a member of Valleyview Evangelical Friends Church. He was a member of the Delaware American Legion Post 115, and a member of the Delaware County Sheriff Office Mounted Deputies Division for over 20 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years Doris J (McClellan) Wood; daughters Kelly & Tracie Wood; granddaughter Skyelar Rock; sister-in-law Martha Wood, brother & sister-in-laws Bill & Almira Philput, Betty Plummer,  Gene & Carol Ufferman; former son-in-law Carl Rock, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by brothers James and Robert Wood; sisters Doris Middleton, Della Evans, and Norma Stauch.

Glen enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, or riding horses. He never missed a Saturday morning horse show, and his daughters enjoyed that time they got to spend with their father. His family will remember his as the loving, artistic, and sometimes ornery man that he was.

Pastor Josh Walker will officiate a funeral service 10:00 am Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Snyder- Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (Formerly 1510 West William Street), Delaware, Ohio 43015. Family and friends may call from 6:00- 8:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2018. Burial will take place in Africa Cemetery.
